Blow Molding 5 L Bottles with B5823
2026-10-06 · Ascent Group Editorial
Five-litre bottles fail in two ways: they bulge under top load, or they crack at the handle from detergent concentrates. B5823 is tuned against both, with density 958 for wall stiffness and a copolymer structure for stress crack resistance.
On the machine, melt at 190-220 °C with a short parison and quick clamp-to-blow transition keeps cycles tight. Aggressive mold cooling locks the high-density stiffness into the wall instead of losing it to slow crystallization.
Bottle designers then use paneling geometry to handle vacuum and stacking, often trimming wall weight by 5-10% against commodity grades while keeping top-load numbers.
