SABIC HDPE M864E is a narrow molecular weight distribution injection grade with density 964 and MFR 8. It covers two demanding jobs with one resin: structural crates, trays and industrial pails on one side, and beverage closures on the other.
The narrow distribution keeps large box panels flat while providing the toughness and thread quality closures need, which simplifies raw material planning for plants running both product families.

Values are typical and should be verified against the mill test report for the specific lot.
| Property | Value | Test method |
|---|---|---|
| Density | 964 kg/m³ | ISO 1183 |
| MFR (2.16 kg) | 8 g/10min | ISO 1133 |
| Typical melt temperature | 230-275 °C | SABIC datasheet |
| Typical mold temperature | 32-38 °C | SABIC datasheet |
| Injection pressure range | 69-89 MPa | SABIC datasheet |
| Applications | Crates, trays, pails, juice and milk caps | SABIC datasheet |
M864E is differentiated by its shared window: melt at 230-275 °C and mold at 32-38 °C serve both heavy crates and thin closure threads, so a dual-product plant avoids changeover purges and dual inventories.
For returnable logistics programs, the same grade also supports mono-material recycling at end of life, since crates and caps come back as one polymer family rather than mixed streams.
Two product families, one resin
Melt temperature 230-275 °C per the official datasheet window.
Tool surface 32-38 °C for balanced shrinkage.
Injection pressure 69-89 MPa depending on part thickness.
Regrind from sprues and rejects runs well at modest levels.
Stackable returnable boxes.
Juice, milk and edible oil caps.
Rigid pails for lubricants and chemicals.
Standard valve bag for palletised shipment.
FIBC for reduced handling and waste.
Bulk delivery for continuous lines.
One window for boxes and caps without changeover waste.
