Blending HDPE Film with LDPE and LLDPE
2026-09-13 · Ascent Group Editorial
Blending is the cheapest way to tune film. F04660, a high-density homopolymer, raises stiffness and moisture barrier when blended into LDPE or LLDPE, which contribute sealability and toughness in return.
Ratios follow the application: 20-30% F04660 adds crispness to soft LDPE film; 50% and above creates the paper-like feel that sleeves and envelopes want. The blend's melt flow ends up between the components, so extrusion settings shift with the recipe.
Trial discipline matters: change one ratio at a time, measure stiffness and tear on the same gauge, and lock the recipe before scaling. Blend windows documented once become a plant asset.
