Bubble Control for F04660 High-Stiffness Film
2026-10-09 · Ascent Group Editorial
F04660 makes crisp film when the bubble is managed. Its 46 g/10min flow moves easily, so the levers that matter are geometry: blow-up ratio for balance, frost line height for orientation, and drawdown ratio for MD strength.
A moderate BUR with a mid-height frost line gives the stiffness the grade is known for without sacrificing tear. Push drawdown too hard and the film gains MD strength but loses TD tear and flatness.
In blends with LDPE or LLDPE, start at 20-50% F04660 and re-optimize the bubble per recipe. The grade tolerates recipe changes better than narrow-window homopolymers, which is why blend houses keep it on the rack.
